DOLLHOUSE to be cancelled?

Is FOX trying to kill DOLLHOUSE and Joss Whedon? In a recent report by newsday, FOX will not be airing any episodes of their cult hit DOLLHOUSE during the entire month of November. But instead, they will be airing "special" 2 hour episodes during the month of December. Meaning they will just lump in 2 episodes back to back in a obvious attempt to kill the show. DOLLHOUSE continues to struggle on its horribly scheduled time slot on Fridays at 9pm EST.

Think about it. Last night's episode was episode 4 of a 13 episode season. At the end of October, episode 5 will air. So when it does come back in December, at the end of that month, all 13 episodes would have aired.

I remember the last time FOX aired back to back episodes of a series and calling them 2 hour "events". It was for a failing, yet critically and fan acclaimed, TV show called ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. In its third and final season, FOX lumped the last 4 episodes in to a 2 hour "event" and aired them on a Friday night against the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony on NBC. That did wonders for its ratings! What ever happened to that show?

I wonder what if they actually put DOLLHOUSE on a good time slot, maybe its viewership will grow. Between Joss Whedon will be directing an upcoming episode of GLEE this year, not airing episodes, a horrible time slot, not airing new episodes for a month and now lumping episodes back to back; does not bode well for the future of DOLLHOUSE.

What do you think? Do you think FOX is trying to kill DOLLHOUSE?
